Molly's First Dance Class : And that's a wrap

This summer, we enrolled Molly into a 6 week dance class.  She was ridiculously excited, though a good amount of that was just for being able to wear a pink leotard.

Her class was split up into two styles:  tap first and then ballet.  Molly *loved* ballet right out of the gate, but took a little bit of time to warm up to tap.  In her defense, the shoes are pretty slippery and very loud.

On the last night of class, the allowed the parents to come in to see what the girls had been working on for the past 5 weeks.  Since Joy wasn't able to make it that night, I decided to make a few videos.  I think that I've captured the controlled chaos that is 10 little girls trying to dance for the first time.  So, sit back, enjoy (and feel free to share with anyone that I might have missed)!

Here is a quick warm up that the teacher did with the girls to get them ready.  Note that Molly is a lot more excited than the other little girl (Run time:  3:14 - completely coincidental on the awesome length) :

Here is a little more formal tap dancing.  Well, as formal as 3-4 year olds can get.  NOTE:  The teacher has much energy in this clip than I have ever had in my life (run time: 3:33 - another completely randomly awesome time!):

OK enough tap. Let's get into the ballet.  Molly is on the left side of the circle.. sorry I couldn't get a better shot of her (Run time:  1:09)

Well, you knew that with this number of little girls and with this amount of pink, that there would *have* to be some Frozen in here.  So, here's some:

Monkey Molly is fully featured here.  At around a minute in, one of the little girls says that yesterday her big brother did something to her.  So, in response the teacher says "Well, big brothers are the *worst*."  So, I said to Sam, who was sitting next to me "Not you, buddy."  But I realized just how sensitive the microphone on my phone is.   (Run time:  2:59):

This next one is a little short.  They were supposed to gracefully flit down the room and then do a grand jete over the stuffed duck...  The spirit is willing and all (Run time:  0:45):

Just a quick flip on this one.  BUT Molly does add a little gusto at the end (Run time: 0:15):

Another quick one.  They are supposed to be doing the "bridge" yoga position like this:
Being that Molly isn't a yoga master, I'd say that she did just fine.  Fun fact, it inspired Sam to try this at home (run time 0:26):

These next two are pretty much the same thing.  They call it "doing the cheese", which sounds like farting, if you ask me.  But what they do is a lot better (run times: 0:28 and 0:22):

And finally, they ended with "Sleeping Beauty".  Basically, go to sleep when there is no music, and freestyle when there is. (Yeah, more Frozen...)  I think that Molly really shone here (run time: 3:18):

Hope that you enjoyed this.  Molly sure did.  And it looks like she's going to be signing up for a longer class in a few weeks, with an actual recital at the end.  I'll let you know how that goes as well.
